Municipal Wastewater Treatment & Organic Waste Management

Accession to the EU in 2004 brought upon Hungary a strict obligation to develop its municipal wastewater infrastructure. As a result there are a growing number of municipalities that prepare their own sewage network and wastewater treatment projects.

UTB offers its municipal clients efficient solutions in building, operating and refurbishing their municipal infrastructure by providing
consulting, engineering and operations services.

The organic fraction of municipal solid waste, sewage sludge or other forms of biomass can be a very beneficial source of renewable energy. Our municipal clients can utilize this feedstock to produce biogas, nutrients and/or compost.

Produced biogas can be used to produce heat and electricity in CHP plants but in a growing segment, biogas is converted to renewable natural gas and injected into the natural gas grid or even used as automotive fuel. UTB provides a complete array of services including contracting for biogas and nutrient recovery projects.

UTB utilizes an array of processes to mitigate the harmful effects of municipal wastewater or organic waste pollution. Some of the
technologies employed include:
