Volta Energy Solutions built a copper foil factory at the Tatabánya-Környe Industrial Park in two phases, and UTB delivered the wastewater plant for both. Separate copper and chrome lines run the same core process: collection, pH adjustment, chemical treatment, precipitation, phase separation, sand filtration and sludge dewatering. The higher-flow copper line adds ultrafiltration and two-stage reverse osmosis, and the RO concentrate is split into clean water and salt by a multistage LTDis® vacuum evaporation (vacuum distillation) system, with the salt crystallised, so the plant runs as zero liquid discharge. Phase 3 of the factory has been designed by UTB, with installation expected.
