Engineering
In-house process, civil, mechanical, electrical and automation design for new plants and upgrades.
All engineering is done in-house, across every discipline, so the process design and the steel, concrete, cabling and control system come from one team. That covers 3D plant layout and piping, civil and structural work, electrical and instrumentation, automation, and the PLC and SCADA systems that run the finished plant.
We are certified to ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management). UTB engineers hold the Lampl Hugó Award, founded by the Hungarian Hydrological Society in 1993 and supported by the National Water Authority: the most prestigious award for Hungarian engineers in the water sector.

Process and layout design in UTB's engineering office
What it covers
- Process design and modelling (SUMO)
- CFD analysis (Fluent)
- Value engineering and design change management
- 3D engineering: plans and layouts, sections, piping, isometrics (CREO)
- Civil, structural and architectural design (Axis FEM)
- Electrical, instrumentation and automation (EPLAN)
- PLC programming and SCADA systems (WebSCADA)
- Online process monitoring
- Technical supervision
- Documentation management: audit and preservation
How it runs
- 01Design basis
Influent load and discharge limits fixed from measurement, not assumption.
- 02Process design
Sized and modelled in SUMO; flow distribution checked by CFD where it matters.
- 03Plant design
3D layout, piping and isometrics, with civil, structural and architectural design alongside.
- 04Electrical and control
Electrical and instrumentation design, then PLC and SCADA so the plant runs as designed.
- 05On site
Technical supervision through construction, with design change management.
- 06Documentation
As-built documentation managed for audit and preservation.
Counted from UTB's reference base by the activity recorded against each project.
