Aerated grit and grease removal channel at the Békéscsaba municipal wastewater treatment plant, Hungary

Scope of supply

UTB Envirotec took part in the development of the Békéscsaba wastewater treatment plant. The biological stage runs as four parallel treatment rows on the C-TECH aerobic activated-sludge process, which sits between intermittent and continuous operation. Sludge treatment combines mechanical thickening, anaerobic digestion, dewatering and composting, and the biogas produced is used on site.

  • 20,000 m³/day
  • 133,333 PE
  • 2,667 Nm³/day biogas utilised
  • Four parallel C-TECH activated-sludge rows
  • Mechanical thickening, anaerobic digestion, dewatering and composting
  • Completed 2014.
