Scope of supply

The Tiszapüspöki factory processes corn into fructose-glucose syrup, starch, high-purity alcohol, corn gluten, germ and fibrous feedstock. UTB built the wastewater plant turnkey in three stages: mechanical, anaerobic biological, and aerobic biological on UTB's own CYCLATOR™ technology. Biogas from the anaerobic stage is cleaned and used in the factory, and the aerobic excess sludge is mechanically thickened and dewatered. The plant carries a 25 t/day COD load, and the client awarded UTB its “Best EPC Contractor” prize for the project.

  • 5,500 m³/day
  • 261,000 PE
  • 9,936 Nm³/day biogas
  • Mechanical + anaerobic + CYCLATOR aerobic stages
  • Biogas purified and used on site; effluent to the river Tisza
  • Six-month commissioning completed January 2018.
